WLGA Approved Policies
Listed below are policies that WLGA traditionally has followed. These have been identified by the Officers and Board Members. They are not part of the By-Laws and do not require the vote of the entire membership to change. Any changes or additions to the WLGA policies shall require approval of the majority of the Board of Directors.
- If four (4) or more people are ready to play on any regular Tuesday league event, regardless of the weather or circumstances, the game shall take place unless the course is closed. The game may be changed from team to individual, if deemed necessary.
- If weather becomes an interfering factor in the play of a WLGA event, play shall continue until all participants are officially notified that the event has been stopped. The decision to terminate play shall be made by consensus of available WLGA officers, the golf pro and the clubhouse management. If an event is stopped during play, the winners will be determined based on scores after the last hole played by all participants.
- Closest to the pin markers shall be put out on at least two of the par 3’s for every regular Tuesday league event regardless of the number of ladies playing.
- WLGA will contribute to the Spring Fling luncheon and to the Annual Meeting luncheon for each member attending. (Amended 11/14/2023)
- Annual dues are $40.00. The annual membership is January 1st through December 31st. Any person joining WLGA in September, October or November will pay $30.00 for dues. (Revised 11/14/23)
- New members must fill out a membership form available at the pro shop or online and return it with their membership fee. The member must declare which tee she will play (#4 or #5) and the player must use that tee for the entire season, unless given prior approval by the Board of Directors. The pro shop will give them a WLGA handbook.
- Dues are not refunded if a member stops her WLGA membership for any reason.
- Registration fees for any WLGA event are not refunded after the final date of registration which is seven (7) days prior to the event. No exceptions. The club may help the player find a substitute.
- All WLGA tournaments will have two (2) or more flights, depending upon the number of participants. The final number of flights will be determined by the chairperson of the event and the club Pro before the start of the event. (Added 5/3/07) For the Member Guest event, a full field will be limited to 128 players.
- The winners of tournament events who receive money or chit prizes will not receive an award at the Annual Awards Luncheon.
- Awards are presented at the Annual Meeting. They include: Annual Ringer (4 & 5 tees) Most Birdies (4 & 5 tees), and Most Improved. Winner(s) of Partner Match Play, Member/Member, Club Champion, President’s Cup and Member/Guest are recognized, but no award is given. (Amended 11/14/2023)
- A winner’s plaque which displays the winner(s) of each WLGA tournament event and special program will be annually updated and posted near the ladies’ locker room.
